Kids love scooters and that's because they are so much fun! My eldest son was on a 2 wheel scooter at age 4, whereas my youngest son who is 4 at the moment is still using a mini micro 3 wheel scooter and loving it.
The best scooter for a 4 year old will depend on their height, build and confidence as to which scooter will be best. But whichever one you get I can definitely recommend a scooter as a great toy for a 4 year old if they haven't already got one.
Both my boys use their scooters practically everyday.
It could be a good choice for a 4 year old who is already confident at using a 3 wheel scooter and is ready to make the move to a 2 wheels scooter.
Stomp Rocket
Stomp rockets are so much fun.
Stomp on the pump at the bottom of the rocket and see how high it will shoot up in the air.
This set includes 6 rockets and they can shoot up to 400 feet.
My kids used to love to play this in the park. They would shoot 2 rockets and see how far they can get them. Then they would race to see who could bring back one of the rockets first.

Both my sons were car mad at age 4.
My youngest son loves playing with his hot wheels cars all the time. Sometimes he just drives them off the furniture, sometimes he lines them up in a row, other times they just talk to each other.
Lightening McQueen from the movie cars is a huge favorite with this age group (my son loves him) so consider opting for a Lightening Mcqueen racetrack or Disney Cars 2 toys.
Remote control cars are great presents for 4 year old boys. Tractors and tonka trucks are great for messy, dirty outdoor play which is what being four is all about.
My youngest has a transporter like the one opposite that he enjoys putting his cars on.

One of the toys we got our 4 year old for his 4th birthday was a dinosaur track set which he loved.
