Teething Toys

There are all kinds of teething toys that babies will enjoy and are the perfect size to go as stocking fillers.
Teethers are generally inexpensive and it's also good to look for ones with bright or contrasting colors.
Some good ones include teethers which you can put in the fridge which can help soothe gums.

My nephew who's just 7 months has the Sophie the Giraffe teether and it's one of his favorite toys. However, it's worth having as early as possible as when they can use it, it only is suitable for a few months.

We used ours from around 4 to 11 months. He absolutely loved and actually fell asleep while bouncing on it on occasion. They are expensive but they have a good resale value if you keep it in good condition.

Of course the time they sleep for can be effected by all kinds of things and babies can wake due to teething, illness or hitting developmental milestones but overall they should be waking less at night.

As babies get older, it can be helpful to start thinking about a bedtime routine. Take away the stimulating toys.  Some parents like bathtime, bathing babies, rocking them, singing lullabies and may look at pictures or books. Their hands are also working together as their co-ordianation improves. This will mean they will be trying to work everything out with their little hands. Can they push this object through this hole (in a shape sorter) ? Does stacking cup fit inside this one? Can they press this button with this finger? Toys that give babies the opportunity to work on their fine motor skills are perfect for this age.
